Darmera peltata
Umbrella Plant Indian Rhubarb
That this plant originates from North America tells you that the name Indian Rhubarb refers to pre-Columbian Americans rather than anything to do with actual Indians.
Closely related to rockery favourites Saxifrages, this damp-lover has large leaves like Gunnera manicata or Astilboides tabularis and pretty clusters of pink and white flowers reminiscent of Bergenias that emerge in spring before the foliage returns.
Too large for postage but do contact us if you want one brought to a Plant Fair or Show. Plants in 3L pots £10.
