‘Creamsickle’ is a double-flowered hybrid from the ‘warm-group’ of Brugmansia comprising B.aurea, insignis, sueveolens and versicolor all of which grow on the lower tropical zones east of the Andes and tend to have larger and more fragrant flowers then the higher altitude ‘cold-group’.

‘Creamsickle’ is one of the oldest known hybrids in cultivation and it is unknown whether it occurred naturally or was bred deliberately as a cultivar by pre-Columbian gardeners who doubtlessly valued these plants for their decorative as well as medicinal and ritual uses.
